Wine is Music 2018

The new edition of Wine is Music in Grottaglie (Taranto) from 24 to 28 July. It is an event that serves as a showcase for excellent products and also as a stage for culture and information. Travel companions of the organization are the emblazoned names of taste in Italy: the ONAV (National Organization of Wine Tasters), the AIS (Italian Sommelier Association), Slow Wine and Slow Food.

Blind Tasting Wine is Music

VI Blind Tasting Wine is Music is an event reserved for the comparison of wines produced from local vines. The final aim is to identify the labels of the wines that best represent the typical characteristics of the vine they come from. The registered wines are blindly tasted by 2 juries. One will be composed of national and international journalists and tasters. The other consists of buyers and influencers of the wine world. President of the jury is Enzo Scivetti (ONAV speaker, President in various international competitions and one of the best international wine tasters). On July 26th Masseria Palombara will host the evening of welcome to all winemakers and the awarding of the winning wines of VI Blind Tasting Wine is Music. In addition five chefs will revisit some traditional menus or some typical dishes of biodiversity in southern Italy. The wine producers will judge them.

On the road

The initiative On the road includes a path that winds through the alleys, the ‘nchiosce and the shops of the District of Ceramics of Grottaglie and also in most of its historic center. Approximately 30 companies are involved in the process. It is an itinerary that leads to the discovery of companies. Also included in the path are five music stations and several artists that contribute to making Gravina di San Giorgio special.

Tasting workshops

The tasting workshops allow you to taste the wine in complete tranquility. On the terraces and courtyards of the figuline shops, the speakers of the most important associations in the world of wine, take care of a specific tasting workshop for a few close friends. These will have the opportunity to know and taste specific vines and to deepen all the aspects. The same producer will tell the story of his wines and his company and will be able to respond to the curiosity of the participants.

If you take part in this wonderful summer event let me know how it went!

Good day!
