Company Adriano Gigante: history, typicality and quality

The Gigante family vineyard is located between the Colli Orientali del Friuli. A company that talks about history, typicality and quality. Born in 1957 thanks to the idea of ​​Ferruccio Gigante and now led by his nephews Adriano, Giuliana and Ariedo. It boasts an annual production of 100,000 bottles, including white and red wines, with particular attention given to native grapes. The contained productions, selected and made with strictly manual harvesting guarantee the wine high quality and maximum typicality.

The family

Ferruccio Gigante did in 1957 bought a house and a vineyard in the hills of the Rocca Bernarda. He began a small production of wine that in the 1980s made the first bottles of Gigante wines come out. The young nephew of Ferruccio, Adriano Gigante, was fundamental and he decided to dare with the first bottlings. The label on the bottles carried the name of the Gigante family, accompanied by the image of the peacock, the undisputed king of the courtyard.

The earth

The territory of this company extends along the north-eastern hilly area of ​​Friuli, near the border with Slovenia. It boasts perfect soils for viticulture thanks to their position and composition, with a unique climate that has contributed to the production of extraordinary whites and reds. The Gigante vineyard is located in Corno di Rosazzo in the Colli Orientali del Friuli, in the crù area “Rocca Bernarda”, and includes 25 hectares of land cultivated with vineyards, with an area dedicated to the production of sparkling wines. The management of the vineyards is constantly enhanced by updates on the most innovative techniques, and this is the principle for obtaining the best result in the highest protection of the territory.

For some years the company has joined the integrated defense project established by the Friuli Colli Orientali Consortium. This involves producing a series of measures to reduce the environmental impact of pesticides. It also deals with increasing the quality of the grapes, also assisted by the use of recovery atomizers in the vineyard.
