The Gin London Dry Geranium by Hammer & Son
Hammer & Son’s London Dry Gin “Geranium” can almost be called a chemical experiment. In fact, Henrick Hammer, the owner of the distillery, thanks to the help of his father who was a chemist, studied the leaves and essential oils of the geranium and decided to add them to juniper (the basic ingredient of all gin). After several attempts and a lot of obstinacy the mythical “Geranium 55 °” was born. Produced with 10 different herbs (including geranium) combined in a mixture of wheat alcohol and subsequently distilled.
Transparent (without color) in the glass, the aroma is very elegant with light notes of spices that mix with the geranium scent that remains constant. Velvety and strong on the palate with an excellent body and a long long persistence.
One of a kind, excellent straight, it is absolutely fantastic in quality cocktails.
Hammer & Son Distillery
Hammer & Son is a Danish brand founded in 2009 that produces gin inspired by the ancient English tradition that dates back to the 18th century. The distillery founders are Henrik Hammer and his father, the chemist. After a period of research and experimentation, the distillery releases the first line of gin called Geranium, where the juniper is combined with the geranium, of which leaves and essential oils are used.
Hammer & Son gins are “London Dry” that is, they are produced only with natural ingredients without the addition of artificial colourants and flavours.
