Hello my dear wine lovers, today saw a friend! Massimo Durì of the Antico Broilo winery located in Prepotto, a warm, welcoming, and suggestive land ….
Massimo and I have been collaborating for several years, we started wine tastings his products a long time ago, when we were both a little younger and both had a great desire to talk about wine! Now we are grown ups and Massimo’s enthusiasm and spontaneity has increased.
The winery
When you reach this small family business you can breathe tradition.
Massimo and his father believed in producing the wine as it used to be done in the old days, maintaining the integrity and typicality of the territory without underestimating all the sacrifices linked to this philosophy.
This hard work is summed up in organic farming that has distinguished the Antico Broilo winery for many years.
And it’s amazing how, real is the image they chose to represent this concept; at first you see the tree and then you notice the roots…
The roots tell a lot about us, how deep we are able to go, how good we are at seeing further, how many graces we owe to the earth … this is what Antico Broilo wines transmit.
The Wines
Prepotto is the land of reds; if you want to taste one red I recommend you choose the Pinot Noir. I always look out for the Pinot Noir, those grapes are not easy, just like me, and I get excited when drinking it, as it warms the palate and heart. Few grapes in each plant, breezy microclimate, moderate but cool temperatures guarantee typical spiciness. Also the Merlot and the Schioppettino deserve to be tasted. Reds of impact with great softness.
The whites are unique and have undergone considerable changes over the years thanks also to Massimo’s continue research and improving. I suggest you taste the Friulano and the Ribolla Gialla. Wines that are wine made in contact with the skins and aged in steel. wines of great character and personality.
Have a look at the chat I had at Antico Broilo winery and choose one of the tasting kits we have thought for you
See you soon
