THE WINE
The Barbera d’Alba Morassina is produced with 100% Barbera grapes that grow in the vineyards owned by the winery, in an area called Trifolera,
THE WINEMAKING
The harvest is strictly manual and only the selected grapes are brought to the cellar for winemaking. The bunches are de-stemmed and softly pressed. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The wine ages for about 18 months in French oak barriques; 30% of which are new (first passage). After blending and bottling, the wine rests for another 6 months in the cellar before being placed on the market.
THE TASTING
Intense ruby red with violet reflections. The aroma is elegant with pleasant notes of red fruit that alternate with spicy hints. Warm and harmonious on the palate; medium-bodied very well balanced with a fresh finish. Persistence is also very good.
FOOD PAIRINGS
Can be used throughout the meal with meat menus but not with fish; must try with stuffed pasta.
