The wine Primitivo Piluna by the Castello Monaci winery
The primitivo Pilùna of the Castello Monaci winery is produced with 100% primitivo grapes grown in the vineyards owned by the winery. We are in Puglia and the territory rich in tuffaceous rocks is ideal for the cultivation of the primitivo which gives wines of great personality.
THE WINEMAKING
The harvest is strictly manual and only the selected grapes are brought to the cellar for the winemaking which takes place in steel. About the refinement, the wine matures for about 6 months; one part in barrique and the other in steel. After blending and bottling, the wine rests a few more months in the cellar before being placed on the market.
Tasting the Primitivo wine by Castello Monaci
Ruby red with purple hues. The aroma is intense with pleasant notes of ripe red fruit that alternate with hints of vanilla and pepper, to close with light herbaceous hints. Soft on the palate with a good correspondence between aromas and flavor. The persistence is also good.
FOOD PAIRINGS
It goes well with red meat and hard cheeses. Must try with braised meat.
