The Gin London Dry Geranium by Hammer & Son
The Old English Gin produced by Hammer & Son is a combination of 11 different herbs, one of which remains secret. We are talking about a gin produced with a recipe dating back to 1783; it is still distilled with one of the oldest alembic still working in England. Before bottling, a small amount of sugar is added, as indicated in the recipe.
It has the particularity of being still bottled in recycled champagne bottles; this choice was made when England was among the largest importers of Champagne in the world. Another gem that makes it unique, each bottle is sealed with a cork and organic natural wax.
Transparent (without color) in the glass, the aroma of the Old English Gin is very fragrant with hints of juniper that alternate with notes of musk and wood to close with hazelnut puffs. Soft and citrusy on the palate, with a long and spicy closing.
Excellent to drink straight both cold and at room temperature, perfect also in cocktails.
Hammer & Son Distillery
Hammer & Son is a Danish brand founded in 2009 that produces gin inspired by the ancient English tradition that dates back to the 18th century. The distillery founders are Henrik Hammer and his father, the chemist. After a period of research and experimentation, the distillery releases the first line of gin called Geranium, where the juniper is combined with the geranium, of which leaves and essential oils are used.
Hammer & Son gins are “London Dry” that is, they are produced only with natural ingredients without the addition of artificial colourants and flavours.
