THE WINE
The Pinot Grigio Piantagrane of the Villa Job winery is produced with 100% Pinot Grigio grapes grown in different particles, in the vineyards owned by the winery, which are located in the area of Pozzuolo del Friuli in Friuli Venezia Giulia, 90 meters above sea level; here the soil is rich in marl, clay and silt. The winery follows the dictates of organic agriculture with the integration of some biodynamic cultivation practices. In short, a 100% natural wine!
THE WINEMAKING
Both manual harvesting and winemaking take place separately for each parcel. Once in the cellar, the grapes of each parcel are wine made in large open barrels, with the sole use of indigenous yeasts. In order to enrich the wine both in aromas and flavors and in color, the must remains in contact with its skins for at least 3 days. The wine then ages in cement and old barriques for at least 9 months. After assembly and bottling without filtering, the bottles rest for a few months in the cellar before being placed on the market.
THE TASTING
Intense golden yellow tending to orange. The aroma is incredible; fruity notes of apricot and ripe citrus fruits intertwine with hints of sweet spices and aromatic herbs. Floral scents follow, to close with puffs of honey and almond. Fresh and rich on the palate with a marked freshness and a pleasant minerality, the persistence is very long … it seems it never ends. This Piantagrane is the perfect expression of the terroir of origin.
