The Alheit Vineyards winery was strongly wanted  by  Chris and Suzaan Alheit who after having spent several years gaining experience in the main wine producing regions in the world, decide to rent an old barn just converted into a wine cellar near Cape Town.

The idea was simple:  produce wines with a clear identity linked to Cape Town, proving that it is worth protecting the old vineyards and historic grapes produced in this part of the world.

The winery was founded in 2010, and the first production year was 2011 with just one wine, the Cartology.
The Cartology was put on the market in June 2012 and immediately became a success and already in December of the same year it was one of the most appreciated South African wines at worldwide level.

The winery is focused in cultivating  the old white grape vineyards, without irrigation.
