THE WINE
The Narciso from the Ronco delle Betulle winery is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes and a small part of Cabernet Franc and Refosco grapes; the percentages vary from year to year depending on the production. All the grapes grow in the vineyards owned by the winery, which are located in the territory of Rosazzo in Friuli Venezia Giulia.
THE WINEMAKING
The harvest is strictly manual. Once in the cellar, the grapes are de-stemmed, cooled and left to macerate at a controlled temperature for about 15 days. After a soft pressing, the wine ages for 16 to 24 months in oak barrique and tonneaux news and used. After being assembled and bottled without filtration, the wine rests for a few months in the cellar before being placed on the market.
THE TASTING
Intense ruby red with garnet reflections. The aroma is complex with notes of plum jam, sour cherries and blood oranges that intertwine well with hints of aromatic herbs, which, in turn, give way to spicy aromas, among which liquorice prevails. Full-bodied on the palate, it has a pleasant fresh note and excellent balance. Very long persistence with a perfect match between aroma and taste.
FOOD PAIRINGS
Ideal with red meat, game and hard cheeses.
