THE BEER
Curmi beer from the 32 Via Dei Birrai brewery is a spicy and refreshing beer.
This beer takes its name from the Egyptian beer “kourmi”; in fact, it is said that beer was significant in ancient Egypt. It seems that two beers of greater importance were produced and that one of these was precisely the “kourmi” obtained with the mixture of two different kinds of cereal.
It is a white beer spiced with coriander and orange peel. Ready and easy to drink, pleasantly acidic. It is produced with Italian emmer and hop.
Straw yellow with coppery reflections; the white foam is compact, thin and persistent. Pleasant floral scents alternate with exotic fruit notes to close with hints of straw, hay and breadcrumbs. Refreshing and slightly acidic, thanks to the spices on the palate. The flavours of malt and hops are delicate. Medium-bodied but firmer than products in the same category.
This beer referments in the bottle; there may be deposits on the bottom.
THE BREWERY
The 32 Via dei Birrai brewery was founded by three friends in 2006 in Pederobba, a small town in the province of Treviso in the Veneto region. It is a craft micro-brewery; the three partners’ strengths and priorities are quality and research; their raw materials are carefully selected. The malt comes from Belgium, England and Germany.
The hops are currently grown by some friends from Belgium. Still, recently, the brewery has decided to produce it at home with a project involving the farmers of Monfumo, a hilly area near the brewery.
It is also essential to highlight that the brewery works in an eco-sustainable way; this choice has made it possible to reduce water consumption by over 40% and CO2 emissions by 25%.
32 beers do not go through any filtration or heat treatments, such as pasteurization, but referment in bottle, thus determining a possible deposit on the bottom.
We are talking about unique beers with great personality.
