THE WINE
The Merlot Lame del Sorbo of the Agricolavinica winery is produced with 100% Merlot grapes grown in the owned vineyards in the area called Lame di Sorbo from which the label takes its name; the vineyards are about 750 meters above sea level. Thanks to the terroir, the cellar has created an enveloping and soft wine ideal for a family dinner.
THE WINEMAKING
The grape harvest is strictly manual in the month of September. Once in the cellar, after soft pressing, the must ferments spontaneously on the skins for 20 days, in steel tanks with the sole use of indigenous yeasts. The wine then ages in steel for about 12 months; after bottling, it rests in the cellar before being placed on the market.
THE TASTING
Ruby red. Pleasant hints of ripe fruit, among which raspberries, blackberries and plums stand out. Warm, well-balanced, and enveloping on the palate with a persistent finish and acidity that invites you to keep drinking.
FOOD PAIRINGS
It goes well with red meat but also with aged cheeses. Try it with arrosticini.
