The Pinot Noir Meczan from the Hofstatter winery

Ciao,

Here I am with the Meczan Pinot Noir from the Hofstatter winery, another wine I tasted recently.

As you know by now, I prefer red wine; I certainly don’t hold back if there is an excellent white wine to taste, but in my heart there is red wine. I love it so much that I often take a gamble and pair it with fish.

It is the case with this Pinot Noir from Trentino Alto Adige that I drank while eating a grilled swordfish with cherry tomatoes and capers.

The dish was delicious, and I have to thank my friend Simona as always! I nailed the pairing; a not-too-full-bodied wine, pleasantly fresh and fruity, which well integrated with the flavour of the fish without overpowering it.

What can I say? Loving reds and Pinot Noir, I have tasted them of various origins and microclimates; the plateaus protected by the mountains make Trentino Alto Adige an ideal place to cultivate this vine. In particular, for the Hofstatter winery, this Pinot Noir, which takes its name from the Mazon plateau where the vineyards are planted, has become one of their flagships

The company has managed to give a modern and unique style to a vine with a great history; another thing that should be considered is the excellent value for money.

As I told you, I paired it with fish, but it’s also excellent with meat. Due to its delicacy, I would pair it with roasts.

Well, taste, experiment and let me know if you like it!

ciao

Monica
