The Wine
Prosecco Rosé DOC Millage is part of a line of fresh and colourful sparkling wines from the La Marca winery. Produced by 85% Glera grapes and 15% Pinot Noir grapes grown in the vineyards owned by the winery on the hills surrounding Treviso. The Millage line is perfect for evenings with friends.
THE WINEMAKING
After the harvest, only the selected grapes are brought to the cellar for winemaking. The Glera bunches are pressed very softly; the must ferments with the help of selected yeasts in steel tanks at a temperature of 15°C. The Pinot Noir, conversely, macerates on the skins for five days at a controlled temperature of 20°C and then ferments again with the help of selected yeasts at a controlled temperature of 15-16°C. After the cuvée is formed, the wine moves to an autoclave for the sparkling process with the Martinotti method. After bottling, the sparkling wine rests for a few months in the cellar before being placed on the market
THE TASTING
Pale pink with a fine and persistent perlage; the aroma is fresh and intense, with strong hints of fruit such as apple, pear and peach which alternate with floral notes which in turn intertwine with puffs of red fruits such as raspberry and wild strawberry. Fresh and velvety on the palate with good persistence. The correspondence between the aromas and the flavour is also perfect. The finish is pleasantly fruity with an excellent taste of red fruits.
FOOD PAIRINGS
Excellent as an aperitif, it goes well with meat, including red meat and spicy Middle Eastern cuisine. Try it with Indian dishes.
