Ciao,
I tasted a new sparkling wine and had to share this new discovery with you. The wine is the classic method of Vigna Lenuzza.
The Winery
Vigna Lenuzza is a Friulian winery located in Prepotto, home of the Schioppettino. A family-run winery, certified organic. As the owners always say, they are organic in their souls. They love their lands and are attentive to sustainability and environmental protection. Now I’m talking about the classic method, but, all their labels are exciting, and in the future, we will also have the opportunity to speak about other wines from this winery.
The wine
Back to us, as I said, I tasted their classic method. The first thing that struck me was the label. I find it very beautiful and original. But this sparking wine intrigued me by its cuvée. It has 70% Ribolla Gialla and 30% Pinot Noir which is wine made in white, i.e. without leaving the grapes to macerate on the skins. Zero dosage (no sugar added) is the way I like it. Il remains on the lees for 24 months.
It was the first time I tasted a classic method made with Ribolla Gialla, and I was pleasantly surprised. I found a fresh wine with a nice perlage that lasts over time with an enjoyable bitter aftertaste.
I opened it as an aperitif and paired it with a salmon and avocado tartare. It pared very well. And I would also like to tell you that thanks to its freshness, you can use it throughout the meal if the menu includes fish, white meat, or even a vegetarian menu.
Then, this wine has great value for money, which should also be considered.
Did you get thirsty?
