THE WINE
The Pinot Grigio of the Sturm winery impresses with its style and elegance. It is produced with 100% Pinot Grigio grapes grown in the municipality of Cormons in the province of Gorizia, on a plateau where the soil is mainly gravelly and calcareous. Thanks to the microclimate, this is one of Italy’s most suitable areas for cultivating vines.
THE WINEMAKING
The harvest is strictly manual and takes place between the end of August and the beginning of September. Once in the cellar, the selected grapes are destemmed and placed in the pneumatic press without maceration. The must then ferments in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 16-18 ° C. The wine then ages on the lees for 6 months. Bottling follows.
THE TASTING
Straw yellow. The aroma is pleasantly fruity with prevailing notes of pear and banana. Soft and well structured on the palate. It is a silky and perfectly balanced wine. The aftertaste is very long and full of aromas.
FOOD PAIRINGS
It goes well with fish and shellfish. Must try with scallops au gratin.
