THE WINE
The Pinot Noir from the Le Due Torri winery is a red wine from pure Franconia (Blaufränkisch) grapes grown in the vineyards owned by the winery. It is an enveloping and soft wine that ages for an extended period.
We are in Corno di Rosazzo, an area of Friuli in the heart of the DOC Friuli, particularly suited to cultivating vines. Here, the winemakers are of few words but very attached to their land and traditions.
Another watchword of the Le Due Torri winery is biodiversity; four hectares of natural forest embrace the vineyards, creating a unique microclimate.
THE WINEMAKING
The harvest at Le Due Torri is always and only manual. In this case, it takes place in the last ten days of September, and once selected, the best grapes are taken to the cellar for winemaking. The grapes are then cold macerated for three days and subsequently for 20 days with daily manual pressing. Fermentation takes place in steel with the addition of selected yeasts. The refinement also takes place in steel, and after assembly and bottling, the wine rests for a few more months in the cellar before being placed on the market.
THE TASTING
Intense purple-red colour; the aroma is pleasantly fruity with notes of strawberry that alternate with hints of berries to finish with very light hints of banana. Soft and well-structured on the palate, smooth tannins, and excellent correspondence between aromas and flavour. Persistence is also good.
FOOD PAIRINGS
