THE WINE
The Barbaresco of the Giuseppe Cortese winery comes from 100% Nebbiolo grapes that grow in the proprietary vines found in Rabajà. Based on the climatic trend of the year, all the particles unsuitable for the production of Barbaresco Rabajà are used for producing this Barbaresco; we are talking about a wine that, in any case, manages to represent the territory from which it comes fully. We are in the heart of the Langhe in Piedmont, a magical place.
THE WINEMAKING
The harvest is strictly manual, and only the selected grapes are taken to the cellar for winemaking. The bunches are destemmed and softly pressed. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled steel tanks. The wine then ages for a period of eighteen months in Slovenian oak barrels of various sizes. After blending and bottling, the wine rests for at least 6 months in the cellar before being released onto the market.
THE TASTING
Garnet red with bright reflections. The aroma is elegant with pleasant hints of red fruits that leave room for floral notes where violet prevails and continues with puffs of liquorice and vanilla; light spicy directions close. Fresh on the palate, medium-bodied, with a good correspondence between aromas and flavour and a nice long and persistent finish.
FOOD PAIRINGS
Perfect with red meats, game and mature cheeses. Try it with grilled meat.
