THE WINE
For the first time on the market in 2000, the Blau Blau of the Jerman winery was created to pay homage to Sylvia Tunina, the latest addition to the family. Produced with 95% Blaufränkisch grape or Franconia and 5% Pinot Noir, it also represents the history of the Jerman family, who have been cultivating Franconia grapes since the 1800s.
The Jerman winery was the first in Friuli to use the Stelvin screw cap model of the French company Pechiney: the winery chose this very technical closure to keep the fragrance and organoleptic qualities of the wine intact.
THE WINEMAKING
The harvest is strictly manual and occurs in the first days of September, and only the selected grapes are taken to the cellar for winemaking. After fermentation in steel tanks at a controlled temperature, the refinement occurs in small French oak barrels and lasts about sixteen months. After blending and bottling, the wine rests in the cellar for a few more months before being placed on the market.
THE TASTING
Intense ruby red. The aroma is delightful, with hints of small red fruits that alternate with notes of undergrowth and herbaceous hints to close with mineral puffs. Dry and elegant on the palate; full-bodied with excellent persistence.
FOOD PAIRINGS
Perfect with red meats, game and aged cheeses. Try it with blue cheese.
