THE WINE
The Verduzzo from the Alturis winery is produced with Verduzzo grapes grown in the vineyards owned by the winery, which are between the plains and hills near Cividale del Friuli in Friuli Venezia Giulia. A wine born from native grapes, this Verduzzo is a sweet but never cloying wine representing the winery that produces it very well.
THE WINEMAKING
The grape harvest is strictly manual and occurs at the end of September when the grapes are slightly dried. Once in the cellar, the grapes are delicately destemmed and softly pressed. The winemaking takes place in steel tanks; the wine always ages in steel for a period that varies depending on the production year. After bottling, the wine rests for a few months in the cellar before being placed on the market.
THE TASTING
Bright golden yellow. The aroma is intense and complex, with pleasant hints of dried fruit that alternate with acacia honey notes to finish with barley candy hints. Creamy and refined on the palate with a good structure, a sweet but moderate note, and a finish reminiscent of almond. Persistent.
FOOD PAIRINGS
Perfect with dry desserts and biscuits, it also goes well with desserts with custard. Try it with mature and blue cheeses.
