The wine Buon Consiglio Riserva Grumello by Ar.Pe.Pe winery
The Buon Consiglio Riserva Grumello from the Ar.Pe.Pe winery is made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes grown in the property’s vineyards which are located on the border between the municipality of Sondrio and Montagna in Valtellina at the foot of the Grumello from which it takes its name. This is one of the most suitable areas for the so-called Nebbiolo of the Alps. We are talking about vineyards located on terraces at more than 370 meters above sea level which seem almost swallowed up by the mountain itself. A true paradise.
THE WINEMAKING
After the manual harvest which takes place around mid-October, the selected grapes are taken to the cellar for winemaking. Maceration takes place in 50hl wooden vats and, depending on the vintage, can last up to one hundred days. The wine ages in wooden and steel barrels for at least thirty-four months and after blending and bottling it rests for a few more months in the cellar before being placed on the market.
Tasting the wine Riserva Grumello by Ar.Pe.Pe
The Valtellina Superiore Riserva Grumello Buon Consiglio has a ruby red color. The aroma is elegant with pleasant fruity notes where cherry prevails, leaving room for floral hints of dried flowers to finish with scents of mint. Intense and well-structured on the palate. This Buon Consiglio is a fine wine with excellent minerality and silky tannins. The correspondence between aromas and flavor is also excellent. Very long and persistent finish.
FOOD PAIRINGS
It goes well with red meat but also with hard cheeses; try it with grilled meat.
