THE WINE
Albarola is an indigenous Ligurian vine generally used in blends because it gives freshness and ease of drinking to the wine. The shape of the bunch (very compact) and the need to grow in cool areas and on hills with good ventilation make cultivating this vine quite complicated. The Lunae Bosoni winery, after several years of study, managed to find the right location and today produces an Albarola wine recognized and appreciated throughout the wine-growing world.
THE WINEMAKING
The harvest is strictly manual and takes place in the early hours when the temperature is still quite cool; once in the cellar, the winemaking begins with a cold maceration on the skins of about eight hours. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel; the wine ages in steel, on the fine lees, for at least five months. After blending and bottling, the wine rests for a few more months in the cellar before being released on the market.
THE TASTING
Pale yellow with greenish reflections. On the nose, you immediately perceive pleasant hints of tropical fruits such as pineapple and line peel, leaving room for balsamic notes to close with hints of white flowers. Fresh and rounded on the palate with a pleasant acid note that invites you to drink. The correspondence between aromas and flavor is great; the persistence is also good, with a lovely aftertaste of lime zest.
FOOD PAIRINGS
Perfect with both cooked and raw fish. Try it with mixed grill but also with tuna tartare.
