The wine from Tiare winery
The Cabernet Franc by Tiare Winery is produced exclusively from Cabernet Franc grapes grown in the estate vineyards located in Moraro, a small town in the Isonzo Valley, within the province of Gorizia. The region’s gravelly and calcareous soil is ideal for cultivating red grape varieties.
THE WINEMAKING
The harvest is manual, and to ensure the integrity of the bunches, they are collected in crates. Upon arrival at the cellar, winemaking begins with a maceration period of approximately ten days, followed by a gentle pressing of the grapes. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature; the wine ages for at least twelve months in steel tanks. After blending and bottling, it rests for a few additional months before being released to the market.
Tasting the Malvasia from Tiare
The Tiare Cabernet Franc presents a ruby red colour with purple reflections when young, transitioning to a garnet hue over time. The aroma is distinctive, featuring herbal notes complemented by floral hints of violet, rounded off with sensations of pepper. It is fresh and harmonious on the palate, showcasing a well-structured wine with a long-lasting finish.
