The wine Andriz Bianco from Sturm winery
Andriz Bianco from the Sturm winery is part of the organic wines line produced by the winery, which emphasizes respecting the ecosystem and its natural cycles. All activities in the vineyard and the cellar are conducted according to the lunar cycle. Andriz Bianco is a blend of Friulano and Sauvignon grapes grown in Sturm’s vineyards, which have an average age of forty years and are in Cormons, in the province of Gorizia.
THE WINEMAKING
The harvest is performed manually and takes place in September. Only selected grapes go into the cellar. Winemaking begins with the destemming of the bunches, followed by maceration using the “Ganimede ” system (we can provide a link to the site for those interested in learning more about how it works). The must ferments in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 18°C. The wine ages on the lees, partly in steel tanks and partly in 500-litre oak tonneaux, for a duration that varies from year to year; after bottling, the wine rests in the cellar for a few months before being released to the market.
Tasting the wine from Sturm
Andriz Bianco is a golden yellow wine with an intense and elegant aroma. It presents delightful notes of bergamot, floral hints of jasmine, flint, and fruity aromas, with Williams pear being the most prominent. This wine is warm and harmonious on the palate, with a pleasant mineral note and a remarkable alignment between the aromas and flavours. The finish is long and persistent.
FOOD PAIRINGS
This wine pairs well with fish, white meats, and medium-aged cheeses. It is enjoyable with risotto, especially those featuring seafood.
