The wine Pinot Grigio from the Alturis winery
The Pinot Grigio from the Alturis winery is produced with Pinot Grigio grapes grown in the vineyards owned by the winery, which are between the plains and hills near Cividale del Friuli in Friuli Venezia Giulia. A fresh and elegant white wine that well represents the winery that produces it.
The Winemaking
The harvest of the grapes is strictly manual and takes place in September. Once in the cellar, the whole bunches get softly pressed, and the must obtained is left to decant statically. The wine then ages in steel tanks on the yeasts at a controlled temperature for a period that varies depending on the production year. After bottling, the wine rests for a few months in the cellar before being placed on the market.
Tasting the Pinot Grigio
Bright straw-yellow; on the nose, it is broad and refined with pleasant hints of exotic fruit alternating with notes of hay and bread crust, finishing with hints of toasted almond. Dry on the palate with a good correspondence between aromas and flavours and a good salinity. Elegant with a long and persistent finish..
Food Paring
Excellent as an aperitif, it goes well with fish, shellfish, vegetables and soft cheeses. Try it with veal with tuna sauce.(vitello tonnato, Italian dish)
