The History of the Winery
La Ferghettina is a prestigious winery in the heart of Franciacorta, one of Italy’s most renowned wine regions, known for producing high-quality sparkling wines. Founded in 1991 by Roberto Gatti, La Ferghettina quickly built a reputation for excellence and innovation in the wine industry. The Gatti family is deeply involved in the daily management of the winery, with Roberto’s children, Matteo and Laura, continuing the family tradition while bringing innovation and new ideas.
The winery is situated in Erbusco, in the province of Brescia, surrounded by beautiful hilly landscapes that provide an ideal context for vine cultivation.
Vineyards and Wines
La Ferghettina’s vineyards cover approximately 200 hectares, spread across 11 municipalities in Franciacorta. The diversity of soils and microclimates allows for producing superior quality grapes, primarily Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, which are the basis of their renowned Franciacorta sparkling wines. The winemaking process at La Ferghettina is meticulously curated, combining traditional and innovative techniques. The wines are aged in bottles for extended periods, ensuring complexity and refinement in the final product.
La Ferghettina’s wines are appreciated for their elegance and freshness, with a range that includes Franciacorta Brut, Satèn, Rosé, and the prestigious Milledì. Each wine expresses the elegance and complexity typical of Franciacorta, characterized by a fine and persistent perlage and a well-balanced structure. The winery also produces still wines that reflect the unique characteristics of the territory and the Gatti family’s dedication to quality.
