THE WINE
The Aglianico delle Vulture Titolo of the Elena Fucci winery is undoubtedly one of the finest wines in the Lucana region. It is produced with 100% Aglianico delle Vulture grapes grown in the vines owned by the winery in the Titolo district in the municipality of Barile. The wine takes its name from this district; we are in the heart of the Aglianico production area.
THE WINEMAKING
The harvest, strictly manual, takes place at the end of October. The grapes are placed in small boxes and immediately taken to the cellar for winemaking. Once in the cellar, the winemaking starts with the destemming and a soft pressing. The traditional fermentation in red takes place in steel at a controlled temperature that never exceeds 22-24 ° C. The wine is then transferred to new barriques, where it ages for at least 12 months. Bottling occurs towards the end of the year following the harvest, and the bottles rest for at least another 12 months before being placed on the market.
THE TASTING
Very intense ruby red. The aroma is elegant and complex, with pleasant notes of cherry, currant and fruit jam that blend with scents of rosemary, tobacco and cinnamon to leave room for light hints of vanilla. Warm and enveloping on the palate, decisive, characterized by an incredible tannic texture and a very persistent finish.
FOOD PAIRINGS
It goes well with red meat and game but also with hard cheeses.
