The wine Arbis Blanc from the Borgo San Daniele winery
Arbis Blanc, produced by the Borgo San Daniele winery, is crafted from a blend of Friulano, Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, and Sauvignon grapes, with the specific percentages varying depending on the vintage. All the grapes grow in San Leonardo, located in the municipality of Cormons in Friuli Venezia Giulia. The term “Arbis” in Friulian translates to “herbs,” which reflects how the grapes thrive in the land that is left grassy, featuring spontaneous herbs mowed periodically.
THE WINEMAKING
The harvest is manual, with each grape variety collected separately. After harvesting, the grapes are wine-made individually but undergo fermentation together. This process results in a well-integrated and balanced wine that ages in stainless steel. After bottling, the wine rests several months in the cellar before being released to the market.
Tasting the Arbis Blanc by Borgo San Daniele
Straw-yellow with a complex aroma featuring the characteristic notes of the grape varieties; pleasant hints of wildflowers and aromatic herbs, culminating in tones reminiscent of acacia honey. This wine is well-structured on the palate and easy to drink, thanks to its minerality and softness.
FOOD PAIRINGS
Arbis Blanc pairs wonderfully with fish and shellfish, making it an excellent choice for pasta and risotto dishes.

THE WINERY
Borgo San Daniele is a winery made up of people, two in particular, the Alessandra and Mauro Mauri (brother and sister). As children, Alessandra and Mauro spent a lot of time with their grandparents. The time spent with the grandparents allowed Alessandra and Mauro to fall in love with farming and winemaking to the point that Alessandra undertook her studies as an agricultural expert and Mauro in oenology and viticulture… go to the winery page
