THE WINE
The Barbera d’Alba Dina from the Angelo Negro winery is produced with 100% Barbera grapes grown in the vineyards owned by the winery located in the hills of Langhe and Roero. We are in the province of Cuneo in Piedmont, in a land particularly suited to the cultivation of wine. We are at an altitude ranging around 200 and 340 meters above sea level; here, the soil is calcareous and sandy.
THE WINEMAKING
The grape harvest is strictly manual and takes place in October. The selected grapes are placed in boxes of about 20 kg and taken to the cellar. The winemaking takes place in steel at a controlled temperature. The wine then ages in steel on the lees for at least 10/12 months. After assembly and bottling, the bottles rest for a few months in the cellar before being placed on the market.
THE TASTING
Intense purple red with violet reflections. The aroma is fragrant with pleasant notes of red fruit, among which plum, blueberry and morello cherry prevail. Soft on the palate, with a nice acid note and a perfect correspondence between aromas and flavour.
FOOD PAIRINGS
It goes well with cold cuts, medium-hard cheeses and pasta dishes with meat sauces. A must try it with “Vitello Tonnato”
