THE WINE
The barbera d’alba Nicolon from the Angelo Negro winery is produced with 100% barbera grapes grown in the vineyards owned by the winery that are located on the hills of the Roero. We are in the province of Cuneo in Piedmont, in a land particularly suited to the cultivation of wine. We are at an altitude ranging from 200 to 280 meters above sea level; here the soil is calcareous and sandy.
The grape harvest, which is strictly manual, takes place at the end of September. The selected grapes are placed in boxes of about 20 kg and taken to the cellar. The winemaking takes place in steel at a controlled temperature. The wine then ages for about 12 monthsa and after assembly and bottling, the bottles rest for a few months in the cellar before being placed on the market.
Intense ruby red with violet reflections. The aroma is intense with pleasant notes of morello cherry alternating with hints of musk and blackberry.
Full bodied and harmonious on the palate; delicately acidic. This barbera has a good structure and an excellent correspondence between aromas and flavor..
It goes well with red meat, game and hard cheeses.
