THE WINE
TheCabernet Franc of the Villa Vitas winery is produced with 100%Cabernet Franc grapes grown in the vineyards owned by the winery. We are located in Strassoldo, a small town in the municipality of Cervignano del Friuli in the province of Udine in Friuli Venezia Giulia. Villa Vitas is located in the heart of a centuries-old park in the territory of the DOC Friuli Aquileia; here the soil is of alluvial origin, therefore rich in clay and sand.
THE WINEMAKING
The rigorously manual harvest occurs between the end of September and the beginning of October. Once in the cellar, the winemaking starts with the destemming followed by maceration on the skins and fermentation at a controlled temperature of 22°C. A refinement in steel follows, and after bottling, the wine rests for a few months in the cellar before being placed on the market.
THE TASTING
Intense red with elegant violet reflections; the aroma is pleasantly intense, with nice herbaceous notes that intertwine with hints of wild berries. Full-bodied on the palate with a perfect correspondence between aromas and flavours.
FOOD PAIRINGS
Perfect with red meats and game but also with hard cheeses. Must try with roasts
