THE WINE
The Chardonnay Jurosa of the Lis Neris winery is part of the most prestigious line of the winery; it comes from Chardonnay grapes grown in the owned vineyards located in San Lorenzo Isontino in the province of Gorizia; we are on a plateau sixty meters above sea level where the soil is mainly gravelly and calcareous, and these vines, in particular, have an average age of over thirty years. It is also essential to know that the Lis Neris winery raises its vineyards following integrated pest management protocol without using chemical herbicides.
THE WINEMAKING
The harvest is strictly manual and only occurs when the grapes are perfectly ripe. The harvested grapes are carefully selected, and only the best bunches are taken to the cellar for winemaking. Fermentation takes place oak barrels of 500 litres; the wine then matures in the same oak barrels, on the lees for about eleven months with frequent bâtonnage. After assembling and bottling, the wine rests in the cellar for twelve more months before being placed on the market.
THE TASTING
Straw yellow with golden reflections. The aroma is intense, with pleasant hints of exotic fruit that leave room for notes of ginger and puffs of chamomile to close with sensations of green tea. Soft and well-balanced on the palate; fresh with a good correspondence between aromas and flavours. Excellent persistence.
FOOD PAIRINGS
It goes well with fish and white meats but also with soft cheeses. Try it with fish soup.
