THE WINE
The Sauvignon IGT Vigne del Malina winery is produced with 100% Sauvignon grapes grown in the vineyards owned by the winery. The 150-hectare estate is located in Orazano in the municipality of Remanzacco in Friuli Venezia Giulia. An alluvial terrain where the two Malina and Ellero streams have drawn a chalice, almost as if to highlight that this is a nearly perfect area for growing vines.
THE WINEMAKING
The harvest of the grapes is strictly manual, in boxes, and takes place only when the grapes have reached the desired level of ripeness. Once in the cellar, the grapes are first cooled through a special coil and then delicately destemmed and softly pressed. The winemaking takes place in steel tanks. The winery’s philosophy is that the wine is bottled when it is ready, and once in the bottle, it rests for another two years before being placed on the market.
THE TASTING
Straw yellow, the aroma is pleasantly aromatic, with notes of elderberry that leave room for hints of tomato leaf and pepper to close with puffs of sage. Dry and well-balanced on the palate, the Sauvignon IGT by Vigne del Malina is a pleasantly fresh wine with a perfect correspondence between perfumes and aroma and a long and mineral finish.
FOOD PAIRINGS
