THE WINE
The organic Chianti Gineprone from the Col D’Orcia winery is produced with 85% Sangiovese grapes and the remaining 15% of other international vines. All grapes grow in the vineyards owned by the winery in Siena municipality.. Both the processing in the vineyard and the winemaking in the cellar follow the strict protocols of the organic regulations.
THE WINEMAKING
The harvest is strictly manual and occurs when the grapes have reached the proper ripeness. After winemaking, the wine rests for at least four months in Slovenian oak barrels, and after blending and bottling, it rests a few more months in the cellar before being introduced onto the market.
THE TASTING
Intense ruby red. The aroma is broad and pleasantly fruity with delicate hints of small red fruit jam, which alternate with notes of cherry to continue with light spicy sensations, closing with toasting puffs due to the passage in wood. Warm and full-bodied on the palate, with velvety tannins enhanced by Sangiovese’s freshness, Excellent correspondence between aromas and flavour with a long and persistent finish.
