THE WINE
The Chianti Classico Duelame from the Lamole di Lamole winery is so-called to recall the blades of land, i.e., the stratified steps rich in mineral substances that characterize the landscape and give the town its name. It is one of the most representative wines of the winery, produced 90% with Sangiovese grapes, which come from the vineyards owned by the winery and located in Lamole, in the municipality of Greve in Chianti, at an altitude that varies between 420 and 650 meters above sea level.
THE WINEMAKING
The grapes are harvested during the first three weeks of October. Once in the cellar, winemaking begins with destemming followed by pressing; the must ferments with the skins for about ten days in steel tanks, remaining until the end of winter. The wine is then moved to large oak barrels where it ages for at least six months, allowing it to develop its complex flavours and aromas. After blending and bottling, the wine rests for a few more months in the cellar before being placed on the market, ensuring it is at its peak when it reaches your glass.
THE TASTING
Brilliant, intense ruby red, the aroma is elegant with pleasant floral notes of iris and violet, leaving room for sensations of red fruit such as blackberry and blueberry to close with hints of aromatic herbs. The palate is very fresh and soft; the tannin is present but well smooth and silky. Even the correspondence between the aromas and the flavour is almost perfect; the ending is very long.
FOOD PAIRINGS
It goes very well with red meat, hard cheeses, and cold cuts. To try with the traditional Tuscan dish “pappa al pomodoro”.
