THE WINE
The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione from the Lamole di Lamole winery is one of the most prestigious wines produced by this company. The grapes grow in the oldest vineyard owned by the winery; located in Lemole at about 450/500 meters above sea level.
THE WINEMAKING
The Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are manually harvested in the first 20 days of October and carefully selected before being taken to the cellar. The winemaking takes place in steel with maceration of about 16 days; the must then remains for about 6 months in steel before refining for about 30 months in large oak barrels. After bottling, the wine rests for a few more months in the cellar before being placed on the market.
THE TASTING
Intense and deep ruby red. The aroma is very elegant with pleasant notes of red fruit that alternate well with floral hints of violets to close with intense spicy and balsamic puffs. Harmonious and powerful on the palate, a full-bodied wine with a very well integrated tannic texture and a very long persistence. The correspondence between aromas and flavor is also perfect.
FOOD PAIRINGS
Perfect with red meat, game and hard cheeses. Must try with meat-filled pasta (such as ravioli).
