THE WINE
The Merlot from the Le Due Terre winery comes from pure Merlot grapes that grow on top of a hill in Prepotto, not far from the border with Slovenia.
THE WINEMAKING
The harvest is manual and only the selected grapes are brought to the cellar for winemaking. Fermentation takes place spontaneously in wood with the use of indigenous yeasts alone. The wine then ages for 24 months in barrique. Assembly and bottling follows
THE TASTING
Intense ruby red with a wide and elegant bouquet of aromas; we start with notes if red fruits like black cherry and blueberry that leave space to spicy hint, closing with light balsamic puffs. Rich and powerful on the palate, the tannins are young but not too obvious. Great persistence.
FOOD PAIRINGS
It goes well with red meat and aged cheeses. Must try with pasta with meat sauces and with the traditional Bolognese lasagna.
