THE WINE
The Friulano from the Crastin winery is made from 100% Friulano grapes grown on the Rottars hill in the DOC Collio denomination of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. Here the marly and clayey soil is particularly suited for the cultivation of the vine.
Given the generosity of the vine, in order to obtain a high quality product, thinning of the bunches is regularly carried out in the vineyard
THE WINEMAKING
The grapes are rigorously manually harvested, they are placed in boxes and immediately taken to the cellar for wine-making. 70% of the grapes are softly pressed, the must is decanted and moved into stainless steel tanks; the remaining 30% is macerated on the skins and then transferred into oak barrels. After about 8 months of aging, the wine is assembled, bottled and left to rest for another 2 months before being placed on the market.
THE TASTING
Strong golden yellow. The aroma is intense with pleasant hints of fresh fruit that blend well with light scents of bitter almond; typical note of this grape. Elegant on the palate with a perfect correspondence between perfume and flavor. Persistent.
FOOD PAIRINGS
It goes well with white meats and medium-hard cheeses. Must try with San Daniele DOP ham.
