THE WINE
The Rosso Riserva degli Orzoni of the Russiz Superiore winery takes its name from the noble family (the Orzoni) who between 1558 and 1770 owned the Russiz Superiore estate. Even then the Orzoni family had identified a perfect plot for the production of red wines. This wine is produced with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes.
THE WINEMAKING
After manual harvesting, once in the cellar, the selected grapes are separated from the stalks and left to macerate in large steel vats for a variable period depending on the vintage. During this phase, delicate fulling operations allow to extract the noble precursor components of the taste and aroma of the wine. The wine obtained is then left to age for about 24 months in small oak barrels. After assembly and bottling, the wine rests in the cellar for a further 12 months.
THE TASTING
Ruby red in with purple highlights. The aroma is intense, elegant and complex in which hints of black currant and blackberry stand out, followed by delicate spicy and balsamic notes. Powerful and balanced on the palate, perfect correspondence between aromas and flavor. Excellent persistence.
FOOD PAIRINGS
It goes well with red and white meats and all types of game. Must try with beef fillet.
