The Linkwood 2014 Sherry Finish Oloroso by Wilson & Morgan Distillery

The Linkwood 2014 Sherry Finish Oloroso is a pinnacle in the Scotch whiskies world. This whisky is produced in Speyside, one of the five whisky-producing regions in Scotland; Speyside takes its name from the river that runs through it. Interestingly, this area is home to the highest number of distilleries in Scotland.

This whisky ages in casks that have previously aged Oloroso Sherry and bottled in 2024.

The Tasting

Golden yellow; the aroma is aromatic with pleasant hints of beeswax that alternate with wood and honey to continue with fruity puffs of peach and close with hints of hazelnuts. It is sweeter than you might think on the palate, with flavours of chestnut honey, sultanas, bananas and apricots that give way to rose petals. Rich and lively, the finish has a powerful mineral note but is not annoying.
