THE WINE
The Dolcetto d’Alba from the Giuseppe Cortese winery comes from 100% Dolcetto grapes grown in the property’s vineyards. We are talking about one of the most cultivated wines in Piedmont; this dolcetto is a simple but high-quality wine; it is ideal for those who love to have a good wine every day at the table.
THE WINEMAKING
The harvest is strictly manual, and only the selected grapes are taken to the cellar for winemaking. The bunches are destemmed and softly pressed. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled steel tanks. The wine then ages for a period of four months in steel. After blending and bottling, the wine rests for few months in the cellar before being released onto the market.
THE TASTING
Ruby red with light violet reflections. The aroma is pleasantly intense, with fruity notes that leave room for delicate spicy hints. Light and harmonious on the palate, rounded with a good correspondence between scents and taste. Persistence is also good.
FOOD PAIRINGS
It goes well with white meats and pasta with meat sauces. To be tried with traditional Piedmontese dishes such as “ravioli del plin”.
