THE WINE
The Friulano DOC of the Zorzettig winery is produced with 100% Friulano grapes grown in the municipality of Spessa di Cividale in the eastern hills of Friuli. We are talking about a native vine par excellence of Friuli Venezia Giulia. The clayey soil made up of layers of marl and sandstone makes this wine the winery flagship.
THE WINEMAKING
The harvest is strictly manual, and only the selected grapes are brought to the cellar. In the cellar, both the winemaking and the ageing are monitored with extreme attention. The wine ages for at least five months in steel tanks and, once bottled, rests for a few months in the cellar before being put on the market.
THE TASTING
Straw yellow with greenish reflections. The nose is intense and complex, with pleasant floral scents that alternate well with citrus notes and the classic bitter almond. Sapid and well balanced to the papacy with a good correspondence between aromas and flavours. The finish is long and persistent.
FOOD PAIRINGS
Excellent as an aperitif, it goes well with fresh cheeses and fish and vegetable-based dishes. Try it with San Daniele raw ham.
