The Wine
The Friulano “Forment” (wheat in English) from the Jacuss winery is 100% Friulano grapes grown in the vineyards owned by the winery in Montina di Torreano in the heart of the eastern hills of Friuli. This wine is not produced yearly but only when the grapes are perfect.
THE WINEMAKING
After the strictly manual harvest, the selected grapes are brought to the cellar for winemaking and softly pressed. The fermentation takes place in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 16 ° – 18 ° C with indigenous yeasts only lasting eight months; the wine is bottled without filtration to maintain its complete integrity and left to rest for a few months in the cellar before being released onto the market.
THE TASTING
Slightly opaque straw yellow with greenish reflections. The aroma is intense with hints of wildflowers, which are well intertwined with notes of fruit and citrus to close with the classic scent of bitter almond, typical of this grape variety. Wide and fresh on the palate with a perfect match between the aromas and the taste.Also the persistence is good.
FOOD PAIRINGS
Perfect as an aperitif, it goes well with fish, soft cheeses, soups and cold cuts. Must try with pasta alla scoglio (seafood sauce)
