THE WINE
This Friulano from the Rodaro winery is part of the “In Volo Sul” line or the wines of the plain. Climate change has made the family consider the excellent qualitative potential of the flat land, with its long sunny summer days and the cool, moderate winds that blow from the Adriatic. The soil here is characterized by gravel and a sizeable stony surface which enhances the temperature range between day and night, thus favouring grapes with a marked endowment of aromas and aromatic and elegant wines.
Respect for the environment and the work done in the vineyard with a view to sustainability, together with the low production per hectare, enhance the quality and refinement of the production of plain wines, giving a unique character to this line of wines.
THE WINEMAKING
Once in the cellar after harvesting, the grapes are softly pressed and left to ferment at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. The wine then ages on the lees in French oak barrels for a period ranging between 7 and 10 months. After blending and bottling, the wine rests for a few months in the cellar before being placed on the market.
THE TASTING
Pale straw yellow. The aroma is pleasantly aromatic with hints reminiscent of wildflowers, which intertwine well with fruit notes to close with the classic bitter almond scent typical of this vine. Fresh on the palate, with an acidity that invites you to continue drinking.
FOOD PAIRINGS
Perfect as an aperitif, must try with cold cuts and in particular with San Daniele raw ham.
