THE WINE
The Friulano of the Russiz Superiore winery is produced with 100% Friulano grapes grown in Capriva del Friuli, on the hills of the DOC Collio at an altitude above sea level that varies between 80 and 200 meters where the soil is rich in marl and sandstone.
THE WINEMAKING
After manual harvesting, once in the cellar, the selected grapes are separated from the stalk and cold macerated; a light pressing follows which allows separation from the skins. The must then ferments for 85% in steel tanks and for the remaining 15% in oak barrels. The wine ages for 8 months on the lees before being assembled and bottled.
THE TASTING
Straw yellow with greenish highlights. The aroma is intense with floral notes of chamomile alternating with vegetal scents to close with the pleasant hints of almond blossom. Soft and fresh on the palate, it is a well structured wine, enveloping, with a pleasant persistence and an aftertaste reminiscent of almonds.
FOOD PAIRINGS
It goes well with fish and medium-hard cheeses; must try with San Daniele raw ham.
