The wine from the Villa Vitas winery
The Chardonnay of the Villa Vitas winery is produced with 100% Chardonnay grapes grown in the vineyards owned by the winery. We are located in Strassoldo, a small town in the municipality of Cervignano del Friuli in the province of Udine in Friuli Venezia Giulia. Villa Vitas is located in the heart of a centuries-old park in the territory of the DOC Friuli Aquileia; here the soil is of alluvial origin, therefore rich in clay and sand.
THE WINEMAKING
After the harvest, which occurs between the end of August and the beginning of September, the selected grapes are brought to the cellar. The winemaking process begins with gentle pressing of the grapes, followed by the most clarification through cold static decantation. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 18°C. The ageing process also takes place in steel tanks. After the wine is blended and bottled, it rests in the cellar for several additional months before being released to the market.
Tasting the Chardonnay
Straw yellow with bright reflections. The aroma is delicate, featuring pleasant fruity notes, primarily of pear and peach, accompanied by hints of bread crust and honey. On the palate, it is soft and enveloping, showcasing good structure and excellent mineral notes. The aromas and flavours are well-matched, creating a harmonious tasting experience.
FOOD PAIRINGS
Perfect as an aperitif, it goes well with white meats and fish and fresh cheeses. Try it with vegetable soups.
