THE WINE
The Champagne Method pas dosè Giovanni from the Angelo Negro winery is produced with 100% Arneis (white Nebbiolo) grapes grown in the vineyards owned by the winery that are located in Roero. We are in the province of Cuneo in Piedmont, in a land particularly suited to the cultivation of wine. We are at an altitude ranging arownd 280 and 320 meters above sea level; here the soil is calcareous and sandy.
This sparkling wine has been produced since 1985 in memory of Giovanni Negro, the person who first believed in dry Arneis. It is a classic method of the highest quality that keeps amazing you glass after glass.
THE WINEMAKING
The grape harvest, which is strictly manual, takes place between the end of August and the beginning of September. The selected grapes are placed in boxes of about 20 kg and taken to the cellar. The winemaking takes place in steel at a controlled temperature. The wine then ages in steel for about 6 months. Follows the bottling for the second fermentation; the wine then rests on the lees for 60 months.
THE TASTING
Straw yellow with greenish reflections and a fine and persistent perlage. The aroma is fresh, intense, and elegant, with pleasant floral hints that intertwine with fruity puffs of pear. Fresh and elegant on the palate, it is a screamy classic method with a perfect acidic streak that encourages drinking. The finish is long and persistent.
