THE WINE
The Gortmarin of the Borgo San Daniele winery is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot grapes. This wine as been called Gortmarin to honor the name of the land on which the vineyards of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon have been planted over forty years ago. These are grapes that await the late autumn for a late harvest. This is definitely a perfect wine for small and large meditations.
THE WINEMAKING
The grapes from a late harvest which is strictly manual, are wine made in red. Fermentation is in contact with the skins and lasts 20-25 days. When the fermentation has not yet finished, the wine is moved into barriques which are for one third new and for the remaining two thirds of the second and third passage.
THE TASTING
Ruby red with violet reflections. The aroma is elegant with pleasant notes of red fruit that intertwine well with balsamic hints and puffs of dried flowers. Soft and well balanced on the palate, excellent correspondence between aromas and flavor. Persistent.
FOOD PAIRINGS
Excellent with tasty red meats, however, it is perfect as a meditation wine.
THE WINERY

The time spent with the grandparents allowed Alessandra and Mauro to fall in love with farming and winemaking to the point that Alessandra undertook her studies as an agricultural expert and Mauro in oenology and viticulture… go to the winery page
