THE WINE
The Jiasik Bianco of the Borgo San Daniele winery is a blend of Riesling and Malvasia grapes grown in Giassico, a small village where the air still smells of Austro-Hungarian Empire. We are located in the municipality of Cormons in Friuli Venezia Giulia.
THE WINEMAKING
After manual harvesting, only the selected grapes are brought to the cellar. The winemaking is very special in fact, the temperature of the whole bunch is lowered to the point that the skin of the grape reaches the glaciation. After which, at least 3/4 hours is waited for the temperature to rise, until it reaches 7-8 ° C. At this point the grapes are softly pressed. The must then ferments at a controlled temperature of 16-18 ° C. The wine rests on the lees with weekly batonage and after bottling it remains in the cellar for at least 4 months before being placed on the market.
THE TASTING
Straw yellow . The aroma is fresh with pleasant hints of flowers that alternate well with notes of fresh fruit, closing with light mineral puffs. Jiasik is characterized by its oriental note of ginger. Soft and fruity on the palate with a balanced acidity. It maintains the aromatic strength of Riesling (green pepper) and the persuasiveness of Malvasia.
FOOD PAIRINGS
Excellent as an aperitif, it can be drunk throughout a meal with fish, white meats, vegetables and eggs based menus.
THE WINERY
Borgo San Daniele is a winery made up of people, two in particular, the Alessandra and Mauro Mauri (brother and sister). As children, Alessandra and Mauro spent a lot of time with their grandparents. The grandparents were farmers and winemakers and owned a small company where everyone did a bit of everything. The time spent with the grandparents allowed Alessandra and Mauro to fall in love with farming and winemaking to the point that Alessandra undertook her studies as an agricultural expert and Mauro in oenology and viticulture… go to the winery page
