THE WINE
La Hoz Rosé Champagne Method Sparking Wine Brut Nature from the Umani Ronchi winery is the outcome of many experiments; in order to reach the desired level, the winery worked for several years with different grape varieties and created different blends.
Hoz Rosé is 100% Montepulciano grapes; for this sparkling wine, the winery selects the most mature and suitable grapes for sparkling wine production from the various vineyards. You will taste a fresh and elegant wine that pairs well with fish but is also perfect with cold cuts.
THE WINEMAKING
The harvest is strictly manual in crates and occurs between the end of August and the beginning of September. Every year, the winery selects the grapes from the vineyards that have reached the right degree of ripeness and the perfect balance between sugars and acidity level; once in the cellar, the grapes are destemmed and left to macerate in contact with the grapes for a few hours, just long enough to take on the pink colour. The wine then ferments in steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The wine is bottled with the yeasts for the second fermentation for about thirty months. After disgorging, the wine spends another six months in the cellar before being released onto the market.
THE TASTING
Bright salmon pink with a fine and persistent perlage. The aroma is elegant and complex, with pleasant notes of berries that intertwine with notes of pomegranate and orange to continue with puffs of yeast and close with flint scents. Soft and pleasantly fresh on the palate, juicy with an almost perfect correspondence between aromas and flavour. The finish is persistent and pleasantly mineral.
FOOD PAIRINGS
Hoz Rosé goes very well with fish and raw fish. Try it with cold cuts.
